Our Story: The Roots of Handcrafted Titanium Bookmarks

Welcome to our little corner where each bookmark represents a commitment to sustainability, learning, and the joy of reading.

My path to creating these bookmarks began in the lush landscapes of Jamaica. Growing up as a boy scout, I was fortunate to explore the island’s natural beauty, from Dunns River Falls to the Green Grotto Caves. This early exposure to nature's wonders, paired with a lifelong companionship with books, ingrained in me a profound respect for the environment and the stories it harbors.

Pursuing this interest, I ventured to Toronto to study Biology, eventually specializing with a Masters in Applied Environmental Science. This academic journey wasn't just about gaining knowledge; it was about understanding our ecosystem and finding ways to protect it. My passion for the environment was complemented by my involvement in museums and science fairs, where I embraced the scout-inspired principle of making a positive impact wherever I went.

Photography also became a significant part of my life, serving as a creative outlet to explore and document the world's beauty, often with a favorite book by my side.

Professionally, I've worked across various sectors, from dynamic startups like HelloFresh and Goodfood to large corporations such as Walmart and Fairmont Hotels. In roles focusing on sourcing, sustainability, and diversity, I've always strived to make a difference, no matter the scale, no matter how uncomfortable.

This journey leads me to where I am now: creating handcrafted titanium bookmarks. This endeavor isn't about personal accolades; it's about merging my background in environmental science with a love for reading. For every bookmark sold, we donate a book to inspire and educate others about self-improvement, hobbies, and understanding different cultures.

While this project isn't my full-time job yet, it's a dream that I hope will grow, allowing us to share the love of reading and contribute to environmental education through the joy of books.

So join us on this journey, one bookmark, one book at a time.
